Where will Lavallette's evenings be between now and Christmas? For the rest of 2026, the town calendar points mostly to Grand Central Avenue, and mostly to Friday nights.
On the Borough of Lavallette's 2026 Fall/Winter Events flyer, almost every public date from late October through Christmas falls on a Friday evening or the Saturday after it. Many of them are run by the Lavallette Business Association. The beach shows up twice, both times as a cleanup or planting job. The social calendar runs through the shops and restaurants on Grand Central Avenue and starts at 5 p.m. on Friday.
Here is the flyer's fall and winter schedule from Friday, Oct. 23, through the town's birthday, with days of the week added:
- Friday, Oct. 23: LBA Ladies Night
- Saturday, Oct. 24: Clean Ocean Action Beach Sweeps, 9 a.m. to noon
- Friday, Oct. 30: Halloween Harvest Hoedown, 3 to 8 p.m.
- November, date to be announced: dune grass pickup
- Friday, Nov. 20: LBA Ladies Night
- Friday, Dec. 4, into the weekend: LBA Hometown Christmas Weekend
- Saturday, Dec. 5: Tree Lighting at the Lavallette Municipal Building
- Saturday, Dec. 12: NYC bus trip
- Friday, Dec. 18: LBA Ladies Night
- Monday, Dec. 21: Lavallette's birthday
Eight of those ten entries fall on a Friday or a Saturday. Most of the rest of this post follows that rhythm.
Friday at 5 p.m. is when the town opens up
The longest-running thread is LBA Ladies Night, a monthly evening that started on Sept. 18 and comes back on Oct. 23, Nov. 20, and Dec. 18. All four are Fridays. According to the Lavallette Business Association's event listing, Ladies Night combines shopping, dining, drinks, and special offers at participating Lavallette businesses. It starts at 5 p.m., and end times vary by season and by business.
The LBA describes it as a district-wide evening rather than a single event, so you won't find one master list of participants. The association suggests asking each shop or restaurant whether it is taking part, what it is offering, and how late it will stay open. It recommends calling ahead. On the off-season Fridays, that phone call matters because hours shift as the weather cools.
The October date also lines up with a food event a few blocks away. That overlap comes up again below.
One Saturday morning on the sand
The beach stays on the calendar, but as a place to work. On Saturday, Oct. 24, Clean Ocean Action Beach Sweeps run from 9 a.m. to noon. The two borough sources list different meeting spots. The flyer says Philadelphia Avenue Beach and marks the entry as a date correction. The borough events calendar lists Lavallette Lifeguard HQ at 1200 Oceanfront. If you plan to bring gloves and a bag, check the borough site that morning to see which location it settles on.
The beach's next appearance on the calendar is quieter. Sometime in November, the borough will make dune grass available for pickup, with the date still to be announced on lavallette.org. These two items are the only ocean-side entries on the fall schedule, and both involve maintaining the shoreline rather than spending a day on it. Social plans have moved inland to Grand Central Avenue.
Halloween arrives on a Friday afternoon
The Halloween Harvest Hoedown fills the Friday before Halloween: Oct. 30, from 3 to 8 p.m. The borough calendar shortens the name to "Halloween Hoedown," and its listing shows no location yet. The flyer says details and flyers will be posted online and on the town bulletin boards. Those boards and the borough site are the places to check before you plan costumes around a particular spot.
The 3 p.m. start fits the pattern. The event begins in daylight on a weekday afternoon and runs into the evening, so it can serve both school-age trick-or-treaters and adults heading out on a Friday night. Halloween itself falls on Saturday this year, so the Hoedown gives the town its own celebration the day before.
Eating between events on Grand Central Avenue
With so much of the season happening in the business district, the restaurants along Grand Central Avenue serve as the backdrop for nearly all of it.
The Crab's Claw Inn at 601 Grand Central Ave. lists kitchen hours every day of the week: 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Its website advertises live entertainment daily and all-day happy hour Monday through Thursday. Two promotions overlap with the town calendar:
- An Oktoberfest special menu listed for Oct. 23 through 29. The page doesn't give a year, so call the restaurant at (732) 793-4447 before you go.
- A Restaurant Week menu dated Nov. 6 through 15, 2026, which runs from a Friday to the following Sunday.
If Oktoberfest runs as listed, it starts the same Friday as the October Ladies Night, which makes Oct. 23 the busiest evening on Grand Central this month.
Lava Java at 307 Grand Central Ave. covers the morning. Its website currently lists fall hours of 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday and Thursday through Sunday, closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Those posted hours don't include a year, and winter schedules can change, so call before a Tuesday or Wednesday coffee run.
Two businesses had their first summer in town this year. La Costa, at 1404 Grand Central Ave., opened in April, according to The Local Girl. It serves canned specialty coffees, matcha, dirty sodas, and bagels. Cowabunga Creamery opened over Memorial Day weekend at 101 W. Sea Way. NJ.com described it as one of two new summer spots in town. This is the first cold season for both, so check their own pages for current hours before you plan a stop around either one.
The first weekend of December belongs to the business district
The calendar's biggest stretch runs from Friday, Dec. 4, through Saturday, Dec. 5.
LBA Hometown Christmas Weekend starts on Friday, Dec. 4. The Lavallette Business Association lists its venue as the Lavallette Business District as a whole, not a single address. Ocean County Tourism lists it as Dec. 4 and 5, with participating businesses throughout the district. The full program will appear at enjoylavallette.com, which the borough flyer names as the place for details.
On Saturday evening, Dec. 5, the Tree Lighting moves to the Lavallette Municipal Building. Caroling starts at 7 p.m., followed by Santa and refreshments from the Lavallette Business Association and the Lavallette PBA. Even the town's main civic holiday event is co-hosted by the business association, so the same group behind the monthly Ladies Nights provides the cocoa for the tree lighting.
The next Saturday takes the town out of town. On Dec. 12, a bus leaves the Washington Avenue bayfront parking lot at 8 a.m. and drops passengers near Duffy Square and Rockefeller Center. It leaves the city at 7 p.m. Seats are $30 per person and are reserved by calling Jim at 732-330-4559. The flyer warns that tickets go fast.
After that comes the year's last Ladies Night on Friday, Dec. 18. Lavallette's birthday follows on Monday, Dec. 21. That is the only fixed date on the list that falls on neither a Friday nor a Saturday. The flyer lists only the date, so watch lavallette.org for any plans tied to it.
The weekday constant at the bayfront
Between the Friday nights and Saturdays, the borough runs one steady weekday routine. Fall, winter, and spring aerobics classes meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:30 a.m. on the basketball courts at the Magee Avenue bayfront, weather permitting. When the weather turns bad, classes move to Union Church. They cost $5 per person, subject to change. On the Fridays with an evening Ladies Night, the day starts on the bayfront courts at 8:30 a.m. and ends on Grand Central Avenue after 5 p.m.
The borough notes that its whole schedule is subject to change, with updates posted at lavallette.org.
